Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that uses a focused state of relaxation to access the subconscious & unconscious mind. In this state, the mind becomes more open to communicate directly with our unconscious processes, allowing for lasting change. Through the subconscious mind we are able to access the unconscious beliefs surrounding behaviours, and make changes to be your best self - inside and out.
Your subconscious mind holds the power for fears, emotions and physical responses. This is how we can make such powerful transformations all within the power of your mind.
-You are always in control & unwanted suggestions will never embed-
Hypnotherapy has been shown to be highly effective in managing and reducing both acute and chronic pain. In some cases, chronic pain can be completely depleted. By working with the subconscious mind, clients can:
+ Reduce the intensity or change pain signals.
+ Release emotional stress & trauma connected to pain.
+ Build resilience and coping strategies.
+ Improve overall quality of life.
It is used worldwide to support people with conditions such as migraines, arthritis, fibromyalgia, surgical recovery, chronic nerve pain, and many other chronic pain conditions and illnesses such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Hypnotherapy has been used in medicine for centuries, long before modern anesthetics were available. Surgeons once relied on hypnosis to create deep states of relaxation and even numb specific areas of the body, allowing major procedures to be carried out with little or no pain relief.
Today, this ability to reduce or even switch off pain is still used in dentistry and pain management, where hypnosis can calm the mind and ease any discomfort. In some cases it can completely release and heal old pain.
Will I lose control under hypnosis?
No. You remain in full control at all times. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused awareness, you cannot be made to do anything against your will. It is said that all hypnosis is self hypnosis - this is because no one can embed suggestions that you do not want (it's your mind after all!) and you are in control at all times. Your mind will be doing the work.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Most people describe it as deeply relaxing, similar to the feeling just before falling asleep. You may feel more focused, calm, and open to positive change. In fact, everybody enters a state of hypnosis several times each day. Some examples of this commonly experienced by most adults are:
+ Reading a book or story and being so focused on the story you are no longer aware of your surroundings
+ Thinking back and recalling a memory, being completely in your mind
+ When you enter "auto-pilot" while travelling and suddenly arrive at your destination
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Yes. Hypnotherapy is a safe, evidence-based practice that is largely used world-wide. Meditation is a similar, lighter relaxation to hypnotherapy.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goals and circumstances. Some may only require a couple of sessions, while others may require several to achieve the best results. Feel free to contact me to discuss a plan tailored to you.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Anyone can experience hypnosis if they are willing and open to the process. All you will need is a sound mind, and a genuine ambition for meaningful change.
